This month Rob and Angelo discuss maximizing soft serve and hand-dipped products. We have many customers that serve both hand-dipped and soft-serve products. We also have customers that serve only hand-dipped or soft-serve. Many times, in either case, the ice cream shop fails to recognize how these two items serve an entirely different demographic.

Some customers love hand-dipped, and some customers love soft-serve. Our question to store owner many times is why aren't you serving both? Even if you're dedicated to one kind of ice cream over another, we always ask our customers to note how many people ask for soft-serve when serving hand-dipped. Or the reverse, take note of how many people ask for hand-dipped if you're serving soft-serve. The takeaway is this. If you're serving one (like hand-dipped), then you should probably serve the other (soft serve) to tap into each market. Soft-serve and hand-dipped products can coexist in your store, thus increasing overall profits.
